HEYAS PEOPLES. MIPOE BACK. MIPOE = SICK and therefore not in school. Boohoo. ah well. having a headache in the morning, a sore throat and repetitive sneezing and some coughing, plus the followers of sneezing, runny nose and blocked nose, DECISION? no school. DUHH. like who would WANT me in school anw? so I'll see you peoples who know me tommorrow.
I spent the whole day reading. and reading. and reading. and then I facebooked. but that was after I literally *facebook* ed. aka, fell asleep when reading. The book I was reading? DUM DUM DUM... Obama's Dreams From My Father. I'll be reviewing this book today.(partly because I have nothing else to blog about and there are only 4 days left to submission)
This book, I'd recommend to many people. Many an insightful quote peppers this book, and the book is beautifully written as it is unabashedly honest in its accounts. His tale of childhood in Kansas, Jakarta and Hawaii tells us a touching story of a boy who grew up without ever knowing his father well. All he has ever known of his father in childhood was through stories, photographs and a brief and fleeting meeting.
The book revolves around the author (Obama) on his journey to greatness, before he was the American President as we know him today. He was, is, a great writer, a fearless politician and a man of divided inheritance, born to a black father and a white mother, he recounts his emotional odessey of a life in this book. Of 5 stars, I give this a 4.5.
Apparently, I am not the first to praise the book! Said Oona King
Whatever else people expect from a politician, it's not usually a beautifullywritten personal memoir steeped in honesty. Barack Obama has produced one.
